Lasting Celebrity Couples, Day 2 of 5
Today’s couple is…Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith. They are a true Hollywood power couple. They have both played roles in many successful films, way too many to list, and have also had success with singing, producing, and directing.

The couple first met in 1995 when Jada auditioned for a role in “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” in which Will played the lead role and where he first captured our hearts with his acting. He played a rebellious but good-hearted teenager living with his rich aunt and uncle, three cousins, and a butler, who he nick-named, “G.” Unfortunately, Jada did not get the part because she was, “too short.”
Will proposed to Jada in November of 1997, and on December 31st of that same year, they were married in Baltimore at the Cloisters Mansion.

The couple have two children together, Jaden Christopher Syre Smith, born July 8, 1998, and Willow Camille Reign Smith, born October 31, 2000. Jaden Smith played alongside his father in “The Pursuit of Happiness.”Will also has Trey Smith, born in 1992, from Will’s previous marriage to Sheree Zampino.
Fun facts: Will turned down a scholarship to M.I.T. to pursue his dreams of acting and rapping, and Jada was Miss Maryland 1988. Cool huh?
Lasting Celebrity Couples, Day 1 of 5
So, we always here about celebrity couples breaking up, going through bitter divorces, custody battles, so on and so forth; but nobody ever talks about those celebrity couples who have lasted. It’s time for us to be a little more positive and start looking at the bright side of things.
Contrary to popular belief, celebrity couples can make it work. They just need some extra determination and lots of love. I am a firm believer that love will conquer all, it just needs to be strong enough to.
Each day this week, I will list, in order from most recent to longest marriage, a celebrity couple that has been together through thick and thin, for at least 5 years.
Today’s couple is Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze, Jr. Married since 2002, this couple made us all simultaneously say, “Awww, they’re so cute,” everytime we saw them together.

The couple first met in 1997, and after 5 years of dating, tied the knot in September of 2002, in a beautiful ceremony in Mexico. It was a 4-day affair with 60 of their closest friends and family.

If rain on your wedding day is good luck, these two are for sure going to have a lifetime of happiness. They got married through Hurrican Hernan and then suffered through a 4.6 earthquake that took place the next day. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

Now, the couple is expecting their first child in the fall. Doesn’t Sarah Michelle make a cute pregnant woman? I wonder if she’s been called “Prego” yet?
Thanks to The Tooth Fairy for the idea for this article.

Writer/Director John Hughes Dies at 59

It is with extreme sadness that I write this news. John Hughes, the writer/director for many 80s films, such as Pretty In Pink, 16 Candles, and The Breakfast Club has passed away at age 59 unexpectedly. He was taking a walk while visiting his family in Manhattan when he died.
Hughes also wrote the movie Home Alone.
I am very sad that the world has lost this extreme talent. I am an extreme fan of 16 Candles and even have it on DVD.
The Breakfast Club is a movie that I have on my DVR. I just can't get enough of these movies.
His movies are the movies that I watch when I'm home sick in bed. They are amazing. If you have not seen them, please rent them ASAP. You will not be disappointed.

Paula Will Not Return to Idol
American Idol's Season 9 will be back on the air in January of 2010 minus one judge. Paula has decided that she will not return to American Idol for its 9th season because she was not offered a "fair" deal.
The conflict began when Ryan Seacrest signed a $45 million, 3-year deal, making him the highest paid reality tv host ever.
The three other judges, Simon, Randy, and Kara, all received deals that they were happy with.
However, Paula could not be pleased.
Abdul, who felt she was worth $20 million, was only offerred about half of that. And so, we have a new season of American Idol with the original 3-judge platform.
I did think that American Idol would eventually return to 3 judges, but I, just like most other people, thought Kara would be the one to go.
It really makes you wonder if this was a plan to get Paula out and already have a good replacement set up. Having Kara come in as a judge at a time when controversy and negative press with Paula was at a high, producers were able to get the audience used to Kara, and have her train (for lack of a better word) for an entire season. Thereby alleviating any stress that would accompany replacing Paula this season.

Shemar Moore Hit By a Car

Shemar Moore of "Criminal Minds" was taken to a hospital on Saturday after being hit by a car while riding his bicycle in Los Angeles.
Currently, he is at his home nursing his broken leg and resting after his brief hospital stay.
The actor, who is 39 and gorgeous (as if you hadn't already noticed), is "doing okay," according to his reps.
